

Legrand CRM has two editions (subsequent to Standard Edition being discontinued with the release of version 5); Professional and Corporate Editions. The core difference relates to the database platforms each operate on.

Professional Edition utilises the Visual FoxPro database platform (DBF database). Visual FoxPro is a widely used, fast, scalable and reliable database system. It requires no maintenance other than backups, which is a simple process of copying the shared folder containing the database tables. This edition typically suits organisations with 1 - 15 users and/or up to 15, 000 contacts. Beyond this the FoxPro database will lose optimal speed performance.
Corporate Edition functions on the Microsoft SQL Server platform. MS SQL is widely used by many medium-to-large scale applications. The key benefits of the SQL platform relate to speed in multi-user environments, where remote synchronization is occurring and/or a large database exists. As a result Corporate Edition is recommended for sites of 5-100 users, where businesses are wishing to regularly have users synchronizing remotely (i.e. over a VPN) and/or in cases of large databases greater than 10, 000 contacts.
Changing Edition
Legrand users have the flexibility of changing editions if the need arises by simply paying the difference between the two editions per licence ($150 ex. GST @ RRP).
